In Series 1 and 2, Martha’s Ten Mile Kitchen was filmed at the Stables Cafe on the Port Eliot estate at St Germans, about ten miles from Looe. From Series 3 the Old Sardine Factory on West Looe quay — a real restaurant — plays Ten Mile Kitchen.

Where is Humphrey and Martha’s houseboat?

The houseboat and Anne’s riverside cottage are filmed at Quay Cottage on the private Pentillie estate beside the River Tamar, north of Plymouth. The cottage can be rented as a holiday let; there is no general public access to the quay.

Can you visit the Beyond Paradise filming locations?

Most of the Looe locations are public streets, quays, the beach and Banjo Pier, so you can walk them yourself in about two hours or join a guided Beyond Paradise walking tour from the Old Sardine Factory. Estate locations such as Pentillie and Port Eliot are private and have their own opening arrangements.

Is Shipton Abbott a real place?

No. Shipton Abbott is fictional and is said to be in Devon, but you will not find it on a map. Search for Looe in Cornwall instead — that is where its streets, harbour and police station are filmed.
