About Felicity Montagu
Felicity Montagu is an English actor who studied at Loughborough University and trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. After early stage work, including a debut at the Bush Theatre and productions at the Royal Court and the National Theatre, she became a stalwart of BBC Radio 4 comedy from the mid-1980s.
She is most closely associated with Lynn Benfield, Alan Partridge's endlessly loyal and quietly long-suffering assistant. She first played Lynn in I'm Alan Partridge (1997-2002) and has returned to the role many times, including the film Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa (2013), This Time with Alan Partridge (2019-2021) and How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge) (2025).
Beyond Partridge, her television credits include Caroline Bosman in Doc Martin, Sue in Nighty Night (2004-2005), Diva Plaistow in Mapp & Lucia (2014) and Patricia Wycherley in Landscapers (2021). She also played Dr Kate Russell in the hospital sitcom Health and Efficiency (1993-1995), Barbara du Prez in Suburban Shootout (2006-2007) and the strict Miss Adolf in the children's series Hank Zipzer, with further appearances in The Durrells and Sally4Ever. In film she played Perpetua in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) and Elizabeth Mainwaring in Dad's Army (2016). In the West End she appeared in Quartermaine's Terms (2013), and she played Mrs Bennet in Pride and Prejudice at Liverpool Playhouse (2017).
In Beyond Paradise she is a series regular as Margo Martins, the police station's office support, whose dry, gossipy presence keeps Shipton Abbott's small team running.
